ARTIK FOOT CONTROL (PA RAIL)

The "Artik" dual-pedal rudder footrest is adjusted by a 1/4 turn pivoting rod mechanism that locks the pedal with the end of the rod being inserted into the slots located in the center of the guide. This simple and robust mechanism allows adjustment every 5 mm. The double pedals provide the necessary rest with the lower part of the pedal to transmit the energy when paddling and the movable upper part allows the rudder control. This upper part of the pedal is provided with a stainless steel spring which allows the tension to be maintained on the rudder lines. The pedals slide on reinforced and very rigid plastic guides. Removable stoppers at each end of the guides prevent loosing the pedals once installed on the kayak. The set is maintenance-free, just has to be rinsed with fresh water from time to time. Easy adjustment: The accessibility to the rod once seated in the kayak and the possibility of moving the pedal by pushing or pulling the same rod, allows the footrest adjustment even when sailing to find the most comfortable position. An ingenious system allows the pedal to be moved deep on the guide without having to change the adjustment of the rudder lines. The micrometric adjustment of the rudder line, which also allows the control the inclination of the upper pedal, is carried out by means of a screw located on the stopper at the end of the guide.
