ESCAPE RUDDER SYSTEM STANDARD PIN (DELIVERED WITH BLADE XL)

The rudder is an essential component in kayaking. It allows to effortlessly compensate the course when sailing with wind, waves or currents. The Escape rudder is reliable, easy to use and resistant. The rudder blade, made of polyamide with fiberglass, is interchangeable and there are 2 different sizes. It pivots 270º allowing it to be adjusted while sailing in shallow waters or folding it for its storage. It can also be completely retracted on the kayak deck, and there is an accessory for this: the Rudder Holder Ref. 52968. The retraction manoeuvre is controlled by a rope from the seat of the kayak. The entire mechanism is easily disassembled without the need for tools and is completely resistant to corrosion due to the quality of the materials used. (Stainless steel spring and screws, brass shaft and other plastic components). The connection to the kayak hull is made with a standard 10 x 86 mm stainless steel shaft being attached to the kayak by a nylon washer and a pin. This shaft is not detachable, so the choice of the shaft model should be taken into account when purchasing. The connection to the rudder control lines is made with a new, simple hook system free of multiple components that can be lost.
